TeamSport Indoor Karting is proud to celebrate our partner Fast Forward Vocational Training Ltd, who have been awarded the prestigious Growth Award at the Hull & East Yorkshire Business Awards. This recognition highlights the incredible impact of Fast Forward’s work and the strength of our shared mission to create real-world opportunities for young people who thrive outside traditional classrooms.

Since 2019, TeamSport has partnered with Fast Forward to deliver a unique Motor Vehicle Studies program, giving learners hands-on experience in a live motorsport environment. From maintaining karts to understanding vehicle systems, students gain practical skills that lead to nationally recognised qualifications - and a clear pathway into employment.

“Partnering with Fast Forward allows us to give back to the community and nurture the next generation of motorsport enthusiasts and engineers,” said Gavin Adair, TeamSport CEO. “Seeing them win the Growth Award is a proud moment for us too, it proves that together, we’re making a real difference.”

What started as a small pilot in Bradford with just eight learners has grown into a national model, recognised by an OFSTED Inspector in 2022 as the “gold standard of alternative provision.” Today, more than 3,000 learners have completed the Motor Vehicle Studies pathway, with many progressing into further training or employment - including roles at TeamSport tracks.

2019: Bradford pilot launched with 8 students

2021: Expansion to Liverpool, Warrington, Stockton

2022: OFSTED recognition and doubling of learners year-on-year

2023: 400+ students enrolled, rising to 550+ in 2024

2025: On course to reach 870 learners across multiple sites

The program is designed for young people who struggle in traditional education settings. By learning in a high-energy, practical environment, students build confidence, develop real-world skills, and discover a sense of purpose. Schools report improved attendance, parents share stories of renewed enthusiasm, and learners consistently say they enjoy this program more than anything else.

Fast Forward plans to expand its curriculum and progression pathways, including a Post-16 option leading to a TeamSport apprenticeship, and will open its first Independent SEN School in Hull in early 2026. Together, we’re committed to deepening this partnership and creating even more opportunities for young people across the UK.

Introducing Mini Racers - TeamSport Newcastle’s brand-new karting experience for children aged 4 to 7 (subject to a minimum height of 1 meter and maximum height of 1.4 meters). It's all about giving your little one their first taste of the racing world, complete with race suits, helmets, and mini electric karts. For a few unforgettable moments, they’re not just kids, they’re real racers!

Your child will take part in two exciting 8-minute sessions on our child-friendly track. With adjustable-speed electric karts and a fun, interactive briefing, Mini Racers is all about building confidence, sparking joy, and letting kids feel like they're part of something big.

They'll suit up, line up, and take to the track, just like bigger kids and grown-ups. And yes, you'll definitely want your phone ready for taking those all important memory making snaps!

2x 8-minute driving sessions with a short break

Mini Racers is suitable for children aged 4-7 years, who are between 1 metre and 1.4 metres tall. Sessions run at selected times and pre-registration and waiver are required.

Parents and guardians are kindly asked to stay nearby during the session and supervise their children during the break. You’ll also want to be trackside to cheer them on and capture those memory-making photos.

At the moment Mini Racers is only available at our Newcastle track, but watch this space as we have big plans for our Mini Racers experience.

Smart Telemetry Steering Wheel: Your Racing Dashboard

Imagine a track that responds instantly to every twist, turn, and stoppage, keeping you safe without slowing down the excitement. Our new automated safety system uses advanced sensors and numerous beacons installed around the circuit to detect kart positions and movements in real time.

Zone-Based Safety: If a kart stops or spins, the system automatically activates yellow lights in the affected sectors, slowing karts in those sectors. The rest of the track stays ‘live’ so the action can continue.

Red Light Response: If multiple stoppages occur, the system can instantly switch the whole track to red, ensuring everyone slows to a safe walking pace until marshals clear the area.

Warrington Unveils the Future of Karting

The 2025 British Indoor Karting Championship (BIKC) has officially completed its qualifying stage, marking another incredible year for the world’s largest indoor motorsport competition.

4969 drivers took part in this year’s qualifying

Together, competitors set an incredible 14,308 qualifying laps across the UK

BIKC continues to grow as the most accessible entry point into motorsport, opening the door for drivers from 8 years and up

Female participation reached a new milestone this year, with 169 women and girls competing in qualifying – up 225% from 2024.

Female qualifiers make up 6.13% of the total number of drivers this year

The Motorsport UK Girls Karting Academy has played a significant role in encouraging and supporting female talent entering BIKC

Drivers battled across the Cadet (8-12 years), Junior (13-15 years), Lightweight (weighing under 70kg), Middleweight (weighing no less than 70kg) and Heavyweight (weighing no less than 85kg) categories, with each category performing well;

With qualifying complete, the championship now moves into the next stage: Local and Regional Finals, before culminating in the National Final on the 15th and 16th November 2025 at TeamSport Warrington, where the UK’s best indoor karters will battle for the BIKC 2025 title.
