Race Academy Membership with TeamSport is the ultimate motorsport pathway for children aged 8-15 years to develop their karting skills with fully qualified karting tuition and coaching.
We strive to progress both the theoretical and technical ability of all participants providing children with the best opportunities to develop and achieve their ambitions within karting and motorsport.
Tuition is provided by fully qualified instructors and tailored to the needs of the individual. The Race Academy programme has been carefully crafted to ensure each session is suitable in terms of age and experience and that every child follows a structured and clear pathway for progression at a pace that is suitable to them.
Karters aged 8-12 race as Cadets and Karters aged 13-15 race as Juniors. Regardless of age all participants will progress through the Race Academy programme from Beginner, to Intermediate to Advanced.

WHEN DOES RACE ACADEMY RUN?
Race Academy sessions take place weekly on Sundays and Mondays at times convenient to family life and inline with after school club times. Attending weekly will provide the quickest path to progression and enable your child to form friendships with other like minded karters. However, you only pay for sessions you attend so missing a week or two is never a problem.

KARTING TUITION THAT’S TAILORED TO YOU
Every child learns to kart at a different pace and every family has different priorities to juggle, that’s why we offer a fully flexible karting tuition programme. With no long term commitment or contract, you decide how frequently you come to Race Academy, it could twice a week, once a week or even once a month.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FORM THE TUITION?
All karters will begin Race Academy as a Beginner. It is here we focus on the theory behind performance driving, the essentials of kart and track safety, track rules and the all important racing line. Every session will last approx 90 mins with 30 mins on track and 60 mins off track to include additional coaching, feedback and rest time.
Once the basics are mastered, it’s on to the Intermediate level. Here we broaden karters skills on track, increasing speed and race craft. Karters will be able to start evaluating their own driving, building on their learnings and putting in to practice overtaking and defensive strategies.
On achievement of the Intermediate licence, instructors will sign karters off as Advanced. The tuition in the Advanced level focusses on competitive karting, tactical manoeuvres, racing strategy, race starts and gets karters thoroughly prepared for competing in events. Karters with an Advanced licence are eligible to enter Race Academy League tournaments and the British Indoor Karting Championships.
WHO CAN JOIN?

Children need to be aged 8 years and upwards and have an inside leg measurement of at least 25 inches to be able to control one of our Cadet Karts safely. Children above the age of 13 years old with an inside leg measurement of at least 29 inches will use our Adult Karts (measurements to be taken from crotch to heel of shoe).
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Our Race Academy offers the best value Karting tuition in the UK with price per session at approximately £30 per session. Additionally, you can SAVE and get FREE karting after multiple visits as part of your Race Academy Membership. With no long term commitment and pay as you go tuition you have full control.
DO I NEED TO BOOK?
Yes. Class sizes are limited so pre-booking is essential to guarantee your Cadet / Junior racer a place in the starting line-up.
