The Competition Journey

Five progressive stages will help you learn, develop and demonstrate the skills needed to take the next step towards professional motorsport.

Stage 1 — Your Journey Begins

Unlike a traditional knockout competition, Stage 1 is all about learning, developing and preparing yourself for the challenges ahead.

Hosted at TeamSport Karting venues across the UK, the first stage combines track time, media training and fitness assessments, all supported by professional coaching to help every entrant improve.

Stage 1 will help you understand exactly what the Assessors will be looking for as the competition progresses. At this stage, we will show you what you need to do to give yourself the best possible chance of winning the competition.

Most importantly, Stage 1 is not about being the fastest driver, the best in front of the camera or an Olympic athlete. It is designed to help every entrant improve, build confidence and maximise their potential before moving into the formal assessment stages.

Stage 2 — Develop

Stage 2 events will again be held at a range of TeamSport venues across the UK.

Your development and learning from Stage 1 can now be put into practice during the first formal assessment stage.

Using a balanced scorecard, you will be evaluated on your driving, fitness and communication skills, alongside your willingness to engage with the competition and demonstrate improvement. No single element will be considered more important than another.

At the end of Stage 2, the TeamSport Karting FastTrack Assessors will decide which entrants will progress to Stage 3. You will be informed of the outcome soon after completing the stage.

Stage 3 — Perform

Held once again at TeamSport venues, Stage 3 raises the intensity of the competition.

Entrants will be expected to put their learning into practice through formal on-track driving assessments, including competitive races, alongside further media and fitness assessments.

Assessors will look for a combination of outright performance and improvement across the three key disciplines, using the same balanced scorecard approach.

At the end of Stage 3, a select group of drivers will be invited to progress to the exclusive Stage 4. Entrants will be informed of the outcome soon after completing the stage.

Stage 4 — Progress

Selected drivers will progress to an outdoor karting event, where they will compete for a place in the Grand Final.

This stage combines further on-track testing and racing with fitness assessments, media skills and personal development to identify the eight finalists.

The balanced scorecard approach will remain in place, with no single element carrying overriding importance. Competitors will need to demonstrate both performance and development across every area.

We are not simply looking for the fastest driver. We are looking for the competitors with the strongest potential to become professional racing drivers.

Finalists will be informed of their success soon after completing Stage 4.

Stage 5 — The Final

The final eight drivers will experience the thrill of driving an EXCELR8 Motorsport Cooper Class MINI CHALLENGE race car at a UK circuit that will feature in the winner's 2027 race season.

Following professional instruction and final media and fitness assessments, one driver will be crowned the first TeamSport FastTrack winner.
