This recognition highlights the incredible impact of Fast Forward’s work and the strength of our shared mission to create real-world opportunities for young people who thrive outside traditional classrooms.
Since 2019, TeamSport has partnered with Fast Forward to deliver a unique Motor Vehicle Studies program, giving learners hands-on experience in a live motorsport environment. From maintaining karts to understanding vehicle systems, students gain practical skills that lead to nationally recognised qualifications - and a clear pathway into employment.

A Partnership That Works
What started as a small pilot in Bradford with just eight learners has grown into a national model, recognised by an OFSTED Inspector in 2022 as the “gold standard of alternative provision.” Today, more than 3,000 learners have completed the Motor Vehicle Studies pathway, with many progressing into further training or employment - including roles at TeamSport tracks.

Key milestones include:
- 2019: Bradford pilot launched with 8 students
- 2021: Expansion to Liverpool, Warrington, Stockton
- 2022: OFSTED recognition and doubling of learners year-on-year
- 2023: 400+ students enrolled, rising to 550+ in 2024
- 2025: On course to reach 870 learners across multiple sites
Why It Matters
The program is designed for young people who struggle in traditional education settings. By learning in a high-energy, practical environment, students build confidence, develop real-world skills, and discover a sense of purpose. Schools report improved attendance, parents share stories of renewed enthusiasm, and learners consistently say they enjoy this program more than anything else.
Looking Ahead
Fast Forward plans to expand its curriculum and progression pathways, including a Post-16 option leading to a TeamSport apprenticeship, and will open its first Independent SEN School in Hull in early 2026. Together, we’re committed to deepening this partnership and creating even more opportunities for young people across the UK.
