Kid Karter, Lance Stroll Signed by Ferrari Driver Academy

11-Year-Old Canadian Karter joins Ferrari driver academy

2010-06-14

Born in Montreal the young karter has stormed onto the Rotax Mini Max scene and sealed two victories in the Canadian national championships,

as well as a plethora of other wins from 2008 and 2009 leaving his rivals out in the cold, pretty much like me. The Ferrari driver academy was set up late last year and is aimed at young individuals who will be supported in their racing activity as well as their personal and professional development. "This programme has a very clear goal: to help youngsters develop to the point where, one day, they could fly the Ferrari flag in the Formula 1 World Championship" said Stefano Domenicali, the team principal of the Ferrari F1 team... He'll do well here considering this is where Michael Schumacher learnt all his tricks. Lance joins the group along with other talented individuals where his career will be closely followed by Ferrari in his upcoming events in North America. In 2008 Lance was nominated by the Federation Sport Automobile du Quebec as rookie of the year and in 2009 was nominated as a driver of the year. It just goes to show that Karting plays a big part in kick starting a career in F1, if you want to get in on the action Kart Champs 2010, the Team-Sport Karting Championship is a great place to start!
