Chase the Ace 2012 - Round 3
Morris leads a tight battle for top spot
Round 3 of Chase the Ace was yet again another incredible race!
Tom Daniels showed his pace early in Qualifying to set Pole Position, just edging out last round star Oliver Bayani. However experience showed as previous Series winner Daniel Morris got off to a blistering start to take the lead early on. Lee Morris, another experienced Chase the Ace driver managed to battle his way from 5th to 3rd on the opening lap and managed to get himself into the lead inside the first 10 minutes.
Ben Churchill made his pit stop early and it paid off by setting good pace and moving him up to 4th place. At 30 minutes into the race, it was down to 3 drivers for the top step on the podium, all setting great laps and making their way through the traffic well.
With 10 minutes left in the race Daniel Morris overtook brother Lee to take the lead, followed by Oliver Bayani up into 2nd. With 5 minutes left, the pace was too good from each of the front three drivers that overtaking was made very difficult. Just 0.792 seconds separated all 3 drivers as they crossed the line!
With just two more rounds left in the series, just 4 points cover the top 3 drivers in the championship! Who do you think will take the Series?
