A BRAND NEW karting championship was announced at Autosport International in January 2020! TeamSport Indoor Karting will exclusively host the British Indoor Karting Championship, partnering with Motorsport UK, the governing body for four-wheeled motorsport in the UK.

Primed to be one of the most breathtakingly awesome championships in the racing calendar, BIKC allows keen karters to battle it out on track against like-minded motorsport enthusiasts. Competitors experience the adrenaline of racing in some of the UK’s best indoor go kart tracks featuring multiple levels, spectacular fast straight and hair-raising sharp bends.

The Championship is expected to appeal to karting enthusiasts from both the indoor and outdoor community and indeed motor racing enthusiasts across the industry looking to claim their first ever British title.

Another consideration that makes BIKC so appealing is the very low entry cost versus other motoring championships in the UK! Our vision is that BIKC will be the most readily accessible motoring championship and not just for those who have the significant funds or sponsorship. With 35 venues open for the qualifying rounds, not only is it affordable it is also available in a town or city near you.

The series will be open to all TeamSport #GRID Elite Members with cadet, junior and rising star categories plus four adult weight class titles up for grabs, which means there are 7 British titles to be claimed!

BIKC has been specially formed with the racers in mind, so everyone can have the opportunity to join the competitive world of Motorsport. Lewis Hamilton commented on the rise in cost of karting in a recent interview saying, “Karting’s getting more and more expensive when it doesn’t really need to be”. The brand new karting series has been formed with the intent of making competing in the motorsport world more accessible for everyone.

Hugh Chambers, CEO of Motorsport UK, said: “The BIKC will offer accessible and affordable motorsport to a wide audience as families and friends can compete at the same meetings in the different categories at TeamSport’s fantastic facilities across the UK.”

Qualifying and local track finals will take place at all 35 TeamSport & ScotKart tracks from June 2020! From there, regional finals will take place during September and October, concluding in a magnificent final event in November. You do not want to miss this, it’s going to be legendary.

The 7 categories of the Championship are:

Adult Categories: Featherweight under 70kg, Lightweight 70-79kg, Heavyweight 80-94kg, Super Heavyweight 95kg+
