93 Year Old Gives Young Drivers A Run For Their Money

The TeamSport Eastleigh track had a very special visitor this week, 93 year old

Mary who sent us an email just after Christmas saying how she would love more than anything to try Karting for her birthday, and who are we to refuse such an ambitious lady her birthday wish! Marry arrived at TeamSport Eastleigh on Tuesday full of energy ready to become the next Lewis Hamilton. Pippa Lucas, who cares for Mary kindly gaves us an insight into their day.

Thank you so much for today's Go Karting at Eastleigh. Mary and I absolutely loved it. We always laugh a lot together, Mary's positive attitude and humour are what have got her through a tough life and to the grand age she is today with so much continuing energy and spirit. Today we laughed so much, particularly trying to get her into her overalls and again when I put her helmet on her back to front and she couldn't see out! We were treated very well and when we left, Mary's smile was touching both ears and she couldn't stop chatting about it the whole way home! Thank you TeamSport, you made an old lady extremely happy and very 'fired up' because she played an amazing game of scrabble this afternoon and beat me hands down. One thing Mary kept saying was "when can we do it again?

What an inspirational story, Mary's fastest lap time was 1:19 in first session and down to 47s in her second, awesome job! You are more than welcome back anytime Mary!
