£250k spent on Gosport project!
Our action packed Gosport site is getting a long awaited face lift costing almost £250k!! After being open for the past 15 years this very loved track is getting a much needed revamp, including a full refurb of the hospitality areas, changing facilities, briefing area, bar and reception, there is also an extensive track redesign to create a wider track with more exciting overtaking opportunities without losing anything off the length of it! If that is not enough excitement for you, there will also be brand new karts, helmets and racesuits, you won't recognise the place! Here is what Gosport's General Manager, Phil Dix had to say about the project:
"Exciting times for Teamsport Gosport, one of the oldest venues in the group! After many years of the same circuit configuration, in conjunction with a full customer area refurb we have chosen to change the circuit layout. Although Gosport has long been my personal favourite layout it was a lot of hairpins on one course and hasn't been changed in 15 years. The new design to the layout should enhance the driving experience with two extra short straights, a couple of right angled corners and a fast twisty section. The bridge remains in the same position as before and we are retaining the right hander under the bridge, the long back straight along with a revised version of the esses. Work on the track has started already with the track staff doing a lot of the work themselves, really taking ownership of their track and a pride in their work. As we see the changes taking shape it looks like a beast of a circuit and the staff can't wait to finish the build and drive it. I believe the circuit will be a little longer than the original (30 meters or so) and will be an awesome drive for both our regulars and newcomers to test their skills on. The refurb on the customer areas will see a new fuel bar and bar area, a dedicated party room and a lot less noise from the karts. Add to this a brand new fleet of karts and TS Gosport is about to be reborn after 15 years!"
