ROUND ONE – QUALIFYING:
This round is based on setting your three fastest lap times in order to qualify into Round Two.
Each driver must set at least three lap times from three separate visits between 1st July & 31st August 2019. The mean average of each driver’s best three times will become their Qualifying Time for the Local Final to which all drivers who have set three laptimes will be invited.
You can attend as many sessions as you like and set as many lap times as you wish, and can be set on any type of event format whether it’s an Open Timed Race Session, Unlimited Night or Member Events. All lap times must be set at the same track.
At the end of each session you must speak to a member of staff in order to ensure your top lap times are submitted for competition entry.
Once all three qualifying lap times have been submitted, all drivers competing at each venue will be invited to the Local Finals during the first two weeks of September to compete for a place in the Regional Final.
You can monitor your position throughout each month by checking the HOT LAP Board at your venue’s #GRID area or ask a member of staff for more details.
ROUND TWO – LOCAL FINALS:
Local Finals will take place at each venue to establish the top 3 drivers in each of the 4 categories who will progress to the Regional Finals.
For continuity, each stage of the finals will retain the same format
Local Finals will take place during the first two weeks of September and will be communicated to all qualifying drivers by their venue’s Membership Manager.
The format will consist of a Practice Session of 10 minutes for drivers to warm up and familiarise themselves with the track.
This will be followed by 3 Grid Started Heats per driver of 8 minutes each for which points will be allocated to each driver dependent on their finish position.
The driver with the most points will start in pole position cascading down to the driver with the least points starting last on the grid for the Final. Where necessary, A,B, & C finals will be run dependent on the number of participants.
Drivers will then be lined up on the grid in the correct order to begin the Final Race for position for 15 minutes. Only the top 3 placed drivers in the A Final for each category will progress to the Regional Finals.
