KartChamps is an annual competition that takes the top talent from each of the TeamSport tracks and lets them compete for a chance to win a top prize!
Aside from being a hugely competitive event, it is a great opportunity to see all of the awesome karters from TeamSport races all in one venue. This year’s prizes ranged from a MINI Challenge Experience Race Day (including a brand new race suit, helmet, gloves and boots) to Tuition lessons and Memberships. All of the prizes make sure that no one goes home empty handed in the championship! The 2013 podiums were as follows: Aged 8-12 Junior Championship 1st Dillon Reed/ 2nd Lewis Foster/ 3rd Callum Boyce Aged 13-16 Youth Championship 1st Ed White/ 2nd Dan Healey/ 3rd Joe Davison Adult’s -80kg Championship 1st Jack O’Neill/ 2nd Andy O’Neill/ 3rd Dominic Nolan Adult’s +80kg Championship 1st Lee Morris/ 2nd Ewan MacDougall/ 3rd Mike Newland Top prize was the Mini Challenge Experience Race Day where the guys got to have 4 x 20 minute sessions each in MINI Challenge Cooper Class race cars (2 x 20 minute sessions in the morning and afternoon) followed by a data analysis session with a qualified data engineer. The karters also got breakfast (a bacon or sausage buttie) and a buffet in the Circuit restaurant. The driver that was chosen as the best by the instructors on the day also got the chance to burn rubber for a 20-minute session in the MINI Challenge JCW race car with an instructor! After the sessions had finished, a group de-brief was had for discussions about the action on the day. This years winners had an ace time and the weather was bright but very cold! The best driver of the day, Dominic, got a special afternoon session around the track in the MINI Challenge JCW, which he thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish and made the other guys jealous of his experience!
