Interesting Monday morning story, the owner of Hispania Racing Team, Jose Ramon Carabante has apparently sold his team to a Japanese merchant bank Nomura for what is believed to be the equivalent of just over $32 million.
HRT have got off to quite a chaotic start this season with their failure to qualify for the season opening Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne and with the recent controversial news of Daniel Ricciardo replacing Indian driver Narain Karthikeyan. It still remains to be seen what the next step is, but we do know the takeover isn't expected to affect the running of the team with both the lineup and team name remaining the same. Carabante son is also expected to stay on with a prominent management position within the team. Although this hasn't 100% been officially announced yet, it is likely to go ahead and an official announcement is expected early on sometime this week.
