Victory for Vettel in 'tough' Race

24 September 2012

Brit driver Paul di Resta delivered the best performance of his career at yesterday's Singapore Grand Prix, by scooping 4th place. The Force India driver started 6th on the grid and even managed to pass Alonso off the line, if only briefly! Di Resta hailed yesterday as his "best day in Formula 1" and said:

I like to think that I'm capable of stepping up to one of these bigger teams. I'm not getting carried away. When the time is right, hopefully someone will step up and give me the chance to do that because I want to be in a car that's winning races.

It sounds like it must also have been a good and satisfying day for Vettel who bagged his 23rd career win; but it clearly wasn't an easy achievement for the RedBull driver, he said:

It's one of the toughest races all year. It's very long, we did the full two hours, the circuit is a killer, there are many bumps and there is no room for error.

Whilst the Singapore Grand Prix proved fruitful for di Resta and Vettel, it was a disaster for Lewis Hamilton. He retired after a gearbox failure meaning it is now almost impossible for the Mclaren driver to catch Alonso, but he told the BBC:

I won't give up, I'll keep pushing to the end.

Awesome attitude Hamilton and keep up the good work di Resta!
