The Wanted Perform Their ‘Gold Forever’ Hit for Comic Relief
If you were lucky enough to catch Comic Relief on BBC 1 this past Friday
then you can safely say you were witness to one of the best Red Nose Days in the history of the charity. It's set to break records with the amount of money raised and the plethora of celebrities that turned up just added to the greatness. Classically it’s just of those nights that can appeal to everyone; you just have to remember why they are doing what they do, so I hope you all joined in and did something to help out the charity that does so much for so many. During the night you would have seen sketches from all sorts of famous celebrities and personalities and various songs performed by real bands and spoof bands as well as numbers performed by the likes of chefs and comics. The real treat came from The Wanted who performed Comic Reliefs Official song ‘Gold Forever’, described by the band as a memory of that one day where you had the best time of your life. It’s an upbeat tune that gets the crowd going and lifts the mood of any room. Not only did The Wanted have the honour of having their song selected as the official song of Comic Relief but they also hit number 1 on the Top 40 charts. If you remember a couple months ago, The Wanted came to Team Sport and was challenged by Radio 1 to a championship on our Tower Bridge track, unfortunately they didn’t manage to beat the Radio 1 team on the track but they all had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed their day. You can read about the fun times they had in this blog post here. The Wanted have really sprung into the spotlight and fast become one of the world’s most popular boy-bands, they are currently on tour and I think it would be pretty foolish to miss out going to see them live. So, congratulations to The Wanted for having their single ‘Gold Forever’ achieve what can only be considered the prestigious award of being Comic Reliefs official song as well as being placed at the top of the charts. They’ve really come a long way and fought hard for this so they deserve all the praise they get and I wish them all the best for a long time to come, well done lads.
