Lewis Hamilton has Corner named after him at Snetterton

Hamilton amongst others to have a corner named after them

17 March 2011

It may not be the highlight of any Formula 1 driver’s career

but it certainly proves you to be amongst the well-known and well-loved. The Norfolk based Snetterton track is to unveil its new multi-million pound make-over as well as reveal the names of the corners proposed by members of the public. Amongst the Formula 1 superstars and racing legends you’ll also find historical figures and famous personalities to grace the names of the corners. Lewis Hamilton, Martin Brundle, Frank Williams of Team Williams fame and of course the legend that is Murray Walker are amongst some of the more famous to have had a turn named in their honour. Of course this is no Monza or Silverstone but still I’m sure they feel very humbled and they may become famous corners in racing history. One day I hope to have someone recognise my name for one if not more corners of a famous racing circuit, it escapes me why they haven’t asked me yet but we can’t all be chose for famous names I suppose.
