Buddh International Circuit 2012

Indian Grand Prix: The Facts

18 October 2012

Well who would have guessed Felipe Massa would have signed a one year extension to his contract with Ferrari

in between the Korean and Indian Grand Prixs! Never a dull moment in the F1 world! With the Indian Grand Prix fast approaching I thought it might be interesting to check out the facts of the Buddh International Circuit (New Delhi)! For starters I've just filled you in with the name of it, that's if you didn't already know it! The circuit has only hosted one GP to date, in 2011, and it has:

  • 60 laps
  • a length of 5.125 km
  • a distance of 307.249 km
  • a lap record of 1:27.249 made by Vettel in 2011

The Buddh International Circuit proved to be a good one for Red Bull as Vettel came in 1st and Webber was 4th. The others in the top 5 were: Jenson Button, Fernando Alonso and Michael Schumacher who came in 2nd, 3rd and 5th respectively. So who will be on the podium this year! Do you think Red Bull are going to do well again or will Massa still be high from his one-year extension and dive into 1st! My bets are on Button! Who are yours on?
