F1® Academy Discover Your Drive Karting UK is a national programme to find and nurture the next generation of young female karters, aged 8-12 years.
It aims to act as a gateway to motorsport, making young girls more aware of the opportunities available to them and removing the barriers that often inhibit girls from competing.
This May half-term join us at an F1® Academy Discover Your Drive Day! Exclusively for girls aged 8-12 years, the F1® Discover Your Drive Day, will include three-thrilling 10-minute on-track sessions and two hours of engaging off-track activities. Led by our Chief Instructors, trained by Motorsport UK, the day aims to identify those girls showing potential racing talent to join the F1® Academy Discover Your Drive Race Academy.
Hosted nationally across ten TeamSport locations, the day aims to leave girls feeling confident in a kart and wanting to continue karting. Girls need no previous experience in karting or motorsport to participate, they will be supported by TeamSport Chief Instructors throughout the day.
Girls who show potential talent will be invited to join the F1® Academy Discover Your Drive Race Academy, a series of five progressive instructor-led sessions. Building on the foundations of the F1® Academy Discover Your Drive Day, these five coached sessions will equip the girls with the skills and techniques necessary to compete in a junior level of karting.
In 2023 Discover Your Drive Karting UK piloted across six TeamSport venues, resulting in a 265% increase in females participating in the British Indoor Karting Championships.
