Ben Loyns Under 12 Go Karting Championship

Team Sport was fortunate enough to host the Ben Loyns under 12 Go Karting Championship at the Southampton track recently. There was 22 of Ben's friends and school mates who entered the competition and the event was led by Racing Perfection Steve Bell who did a brilliant job in helping organise the training, heats and the Grand Final. The event was set-up in order to raise money for a good cause and to pay tribute to Ben, who loved Go Karting and on what would have been his birthday weekend. Ben held his 9th birthday party at the Southampton track last year and it was the memory of this which instigated the idea to run the charity event. Dean Stoneman, 2010 FIA F2 Champion also attended the charity event and took great pride in handing out the trophies and prizes to the winning children at the end of the race. Everybody was especially grateful that he took the time to come along and support the event, he is currently taking a break from racing this year to receive treatment for Cancer so we wish him all the best of luck with his fight against cancer. Thomas Croft Baker, one of the competitors said

I had great fun, it was awesome racing my friends and I can't wait for next years Go Karting Championship.
