15.02.15 LONDON LEAGUE... ROUND FOUR
With 3 rounds gone in the first ever London League it was time to hit the International Track at Tower Bridge.
Brandon Abraham led the table before tonights event but now came to the track he has the least experience on. Some regular Tower members were in the line up and looking to gain points on the league leader.
In the first heat regular Tower members Oswald Bousseau, Francesco Poderi and Tim Carolan made up the top three with Oz getting the quickest opening lap time.
Heat 2 saw Francesco set the fastest lap with Tim second and Brandon finding his feet in third.
Tim took the fastest lap in heat 3 with Tyler Mays getting a quick time in for second place.
Heat 4 showed that experience isn't always key with Brandon and Tyler in the top 2. With only 2 heats remaining it was all about getting those quick lap times in and the lap times started to drop.
In the penultimate heat Tim Carolan recorded a 59.492 lap, the quickest of the night. Brandon was in second and new League entrant Billy Hutchings put himself into contention in third.
The final heat is where the laps got really competitive. Francesco pulled out a rapid 59.418 to take the win and Oswald just behind him with a 59.436. Tim's best was a 59.492 to make up an incredibly close top 3.
We now move onto the next event, The Eliminator at London Docklands on March 18th!
04.02.15 LONDON LEAGUE... ROUND THREE
Tyler Mays claims Round 3 and accelerates to 2nd place in the current league table!
We had 12 drivers race in what was an epic event on Wednesday 4th February for Round 3 of the London League.
The format was our exciting Eliminator event which is set as 5 minutes practice, 25 qualify and a 30 minute race. 18 minutes into the race and the last driver at the back of the grid on every other lap is black flagged to leave the circuit - the ultimate last karter standing competition!
Brandon Abraham was the quickest in the qualifier followed by Tyler Mays. The race was very intense at start and the top drivers in the event found it very hard to race as everyone was eager to claim that top spot and avoid elimination!
In the end, the epic battle came down to Tyler Mays, Brandon Abraham and Jake Cassetta meaning North London regular members such as Joe, Gerard, Anand and Hannah could not make it into the top three positions despite all their efforts. All drivers however created an EPIC competition throughout making it a fun night for all and a memorable night of karting.
3rd Place... Jake Cassetta
2nd Place... Brandon Abraham
1st Place... Tyler Mays
Congratulations to the Top 3 from Round 3... and the updated London League board is now online!
Round 4 takes place at TeamSport London Tower Bridge Sunday 15th February - did we mention it might be epic?
01.02.15 NEW YEAR, NEW PBs - DID YOU MAKE THE JANUARY LEADERBOARD?

22.01.15 LONDON LEAGUE... ROUND TWO
Brandon Abraham claims second win in the #Grid London League at TeamSport West London. 12 drivers contested the second round of the London League was held at TeamSport West London as a Grand Prix Premier plus event.
The event consisted of a practice a qualifying session a grid started race and a reverse race, with the winner of the event being the person with the highest points accumulated from both races.
Race one was won from Pole to lights by Brandon Abraham securing a 10 point lead for the event, following Brandon into the top three were TeamSport West London regulars Francesco Poderi in second and Tim Carolan in third.
Race two saw David Hone fight his way up to win from seventh position in an eventful reverse grid race. Leo Taylor took second position in his first ever #Grid members event followed by Tyler Mays in third.
Final result of the event saw a four way points tie between Brandon Abraham, Francesco Poderi, Tim Carolan and Said Ali all finishing with 14 points a piece, meaning the winner of the event had to be decided by the person with the fastest lap from the two races.
This saw Brandon Abraham taking the event with a fastest lap of 26.181 followed by Francesco with a personal best of 26.450 then Tim missing out on second place by 3 thousandths with 26.453. The personal rivalry between the two friends couldn't have got any closer if they had tried.
#Grid newcomer Said Ali just missed out on the podium with a 26.530, a very commendable time and consistent placings of the fourth position in both races earning him seven points in each race, had the either of races between Tim and Francesco been a slightly different result Said that have been up on the podium with his consistency.
The next London League event takes place at TeamSport North London as a Super Grand Prix 4 on the 4th February. 7.30pm arrival costing £40 per person.
14.01.15 THE FIRST LONDON LEAGUE KICKS OFF
A tense, nail-biting conclusion to a very exciting event to kick off the London League, 11 drivers took to the grid for victory and 25 points, after a tight practice and an even tighter qualifying session. Brandon Abraham managed to steal pole on the very last lap by 0.05 of a second. Once the karts were on the grid, the lights went out and drivers were away for race one.
A very tight and exciting race with lots of battles concluded with Brandon taking a lights to flag victory with Tyler Mays finishing in second. With the level of competition within the field, race two was never going to be straight forward, it promised more than race one with the reverse grid and it duly delivered, and just a tenth of a second separated the top two, Tyler Mays managing to take the victory with Brandon Abraham finishing second.
With a tie on points and 25 points up for grabs, it came down to fastest lap time and it was again so close just 0.4 of a second separated 1st and 2nd.
The winner was Brandon, taking maximum points from the first race in series. Tim Carolan very consistent throughout took 3rd place overall.
