At TeamSport we have always had our customers safety at the forefront of what we do. Our aim is always to provide an amazing experience that is safe for everyone. We are taking some additional COVID-19 safety measures, which will be in place, to keep you and our crew safe.
As announced by the Welsh first minister, Mark Drakeford, today, 19/10/2020 there will be a short, two-week ‘firebreak’ lockdown. Starting at 6pm on Friday 23rd October until Monday 9th November. This means that the Cardiff TeamSport track will remain open up until 6pm on Friday and will re-open on Tuesday 10th November.
It’s understandable that with so much changing so rapidly, people are finding it difficult to keep up-to-date with the rules and regulations pertaining to COVID-19. Many of the calls we have taken are around confusion over the widely publicised ‘Rule-Of-Six’ and how this impacts on peoples plans to visit TeamSport. The following article hopes to add some clarification around what the ‘Rule-Of-Six’ means for our customers.
All our TeamSport tracks are open and operating safely, in line with the latest Government guidelines and with robust COVID secure measures in place. Whilst there have had to be minor modifications, for example the requirement to be closed by 10pm across England, Scotland and Wales, none of these have prevented us from being able to open and operate safely. The Northumberland, Newcastle, Sunderland, North and South Tyneside, Gateshead and County Durham council areas are all affected by the Governments announcement today about further restrictions being put in place from midnight on the 17th September 2020.
This was followed by adding further restrictions in Lancashire, with the exception of Blackpool on Friday 18th September.
The hope for the new measures being put in place, is that they will slow the increase in infection rates, relating to COVID-19 in the region.
The TeamSport tracks located in the affected council areas are; Newcastle and Preston. Both tracks are open and welcoming customers. They have stringent COVID secure measures in place, that include the organisation and social distancing of different family groups and adhering to the 10pm curfew.
Whilst from the 14th September the maximum group size that can socialise together is six people, TeamSport have more than enough space to accommodate groups in a safe and COVID secure way, whilst on and off the track.
This means that even if your group size exceeds six people, we can divide you into smaller groups and keep you safely socially distanced to ensure your safety and that of our other customers and crew members when you are not on track, and continue to allow you to race on track together due to all the protective racewear you are required to put on as well as the distance between karts.
