IndyCar racers take over Sin City

Las Vegas puts on a show stopping IndyCar race down the strip

13 October 2011

In preparation for the IndyCar Final, thousands of spectators stood by and witnessed 34 cars for this Sunday's Las Vegas race being paraded up and down the neon lit City last night. In front the Bellagio fountains, each of the drivers were introduced one by one before making their way to their cars and tearing down the strip. Back In July Randy Bernard, the CEO of IndyCar made a comment about the possibility of poor ratings for his planned season finale in Las Vegas and threatened to quit on the spot if their TV ratings measured at 0.3 (which is apparently a measure that couldn't be more than a few families). So it is no surprise that they would put on such a awe-stopping event for the public in order to boost their ratings. He even went as far to offer $5 million to any non-regular driver who wins the season finale!
