Poor Debut DTM Qualifying for David Coulthard

However Gary Paffett on Pole!

David Coulthard failed to make it to the 2nd round of qualifying in his maiden DTM race for Mercedes in Hockenheim. unfortunately Coulthard only qualified 17th after his 2 year break from all professional motorsport. However he seemed to be upbeat about the whole thing and i am sure that as the season goes on he will be right up there vying for podiums!

Its fantastic to see another Britt, Gary Paffett on pole however! We have heard talk about Paffett for years now, will he or wont he be in F1 this year etc. Surly if he can turn this Pole, the 7th of his DTM career, into a race win it really puts him in the DTM spot light and perhaps might be the last push he needs for some of the F1 teams to stand up and listen. There are plenty of seats available now in F1 with the 3 new teams this year and all this talk about teams getting a 3rd car next year.

F1 old-timer Ralf Schumacher, who abandoned his f1 career some years ago for a last hurah in DTM is still plugging away, but with a qualifying position of just 16th he continues to be unimpressive. To be honest, it feels like justice for the once self-claiming “3rd best f1 Driver”.

If you don’t plan to watch the DTM tomorrow feel free to come to one of our centers instead, the Crawley International circuit is open tomorrow evening – all three levels of the track!
