Wow, what a season! Lewis Hamilton has done it again, but what a tense fight it has been! The twenty-nine year old Brit came out on top, proving himself not once, but now double champion of Formula 1, the pinnacle of motorsport.

That being said, it was close. Nico Rosberg came in a close second, fighting his corner as Hamilton’s partner in the Mercedes Team throughout the season, but struggled to make a challenge during the final race in Abu Dhabi due to technical issues.

Hamilton had a poor start to the season, retiring in Australia, but soon got his championship title race underway with four race wins. This then turned into controversy in Monaco during qualifying, achieving only one win in the next six races! Lewis dusted himself off and drove perfectly to win five consecutive races. However, Rosberg was still challenging and kept his title hopes alive with a win at Brazil, before Hamilton drove to victory in Abu Dhabi and was crowned Champion. What a season!

There wasn’t really a contest in the Constructors title race as Mercedes dominated the whole season, with Red Bull coming a distant second. British manufacturer, Williams-Mercedes rounded off the top three.

It has been an exciting past month for motorsports, with more to come. There are plenty of races and rallies to be had throughout the end of November and into December, including the Australia Tour, Formula E and the prestigious Autosports Awards. If you feel like nominating yours truly for something then feel free. Best sporting personality of the year is still undecided, or so I hear! Anyway, I digress. I have prepared a little infographic to explore the results of the 2014 Formula One Season in more detail above.
